MLG has secured an integrated mining and crushing services contract valued at approximately A$70m ($48.23m) at the Pioneer Dome Lithium Project in Western Australia (WA).
The contract, awarded by Develop Global, covers a 12-month operational campaign that is scheduled to begin in July 2026.
The Pioneer Dome Lithium Project sits roughly 130km south of Kalgoorlie and is accessible via sealed roads with established regional infrastructure.
The Cade Pit marks the first phase of open-pit mining at the site, with Develop aiming to begin direct shipping of ore production in the December quarter of 2026.
MLG’s contract covers a range of services to support activities at Pioneer Dome, such as drill and blast operations, mining of ore and waste, and load and haul work.
The company will also manage run of mine stockpiles, undertake ore rehandling, and oversee the supply, operation and maintenance of the crushing circuit.
All contract revenue is expected to be recognised within the 2027 financial year.
MLG will deploy its own crushing equipment and core production fleet in support of the contract, aiming for operational control and asset use throughout the campaign.
This contract marks MLG’s entry into providing services at a developing lithium project in the area.
MLG CEO Mark Hatfield said: “The award of the Pioneer Dome contract is a strategically important step for MLG. It positions us alongside one of the most credible emerging producers on the ASX [Australian Securities Exchange] and marks a meaningful entry into the lithium services market.
“This integrated scope of work, spanning drill and blast, load and haul, crushing and site services under a single accountable framework, showcases the depth of MLG’s self-perform capability and reinforces the value of its integrated service model for clients seeking a trusted, end-to-end services partner.”
MLG expects there may be opportunities to expand its crushing services if Develop moves forward with additional project phases at Pioneer Dome.
Any further work would depend on separate commercial agreements between the two companies.
In May 2025, the company signed its inaugural contract with mining giant Rio Tinto for bulk haulage and site services at the Western Turner Syncline Mine in WA.
